89 Braised Seaweed and Fried Tofu


  • 2 cups of Chinese thick seaweed or fresh seaweed, soaked until soft
  • 3 cups of fried tofu puffs
  • 6-7 slices of ginger
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • A dash of soy sauce
  • A dash of cooking oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 4-6 cups of water


Step 1
Blanch the fried tofu in boiling water. Remove from the boiling water and set aside.
Step 2
Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. First stir-fry the ginger slices, then add the seaweed and stir-fry them together. Next add the soy sauce, salt, sugar, chopped green onion, and water. Cover the pot and simmer.
Step 3
After simmering for 30 minutes, mix in the fried tofu. If most of the water has boiled away at this point, add more. Cover again and continue to simmer until the seaweed is thoroughly cooked and soft all the way through. Ladle up the dish and serve.

  • 油豆腐裹:3 杯
  • 薑片:6-7 片
  • 蔥:1 根
  • 醬油、燒菜油:少許
  • 鹽、糖:少許
  • 水:4-6 杯,如不夠中間可再加
