96 Black Sticky Rice, Red Date, and Lotus Seed Porridge

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of black sticky rice, rinsed and soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 1/2 cup of red dates, soaked in water
  • 1/2 cup of lotus seeds, soaked in water
  • 1/4 cup of dried longan berries, pitted
  • A pinch of rock or brown sugar (optional)
  • 4-6 cups of water

DIRECTIONS

Step 1
In a deep pot add the water, black sticky rice, and lotus seeds. Cook over high heat until the water boils. Continue to boil for 10 minutes. Then turn the heat down to medium-low, put the lid on the pot, and let it simmer.
Step 2
Continue to let the porridge simmer for 30 minutes. Then add the red dates and brown sugar. Keep cooking until the rice is completely soft and the porridge is nice and thick. Then add the longan berries, return the lid to the pot, turn off the heat, and let the longan berries heat all the way through and serve.
Step 3
While you are cooking the porridge, you can add more water if most of it has boiled away before the rice becomes soft. If you don’t add sugar, when you serve the porridge, squeeze a little honey or sprinkle some other sweetener over the top.

96 紫米紅棗蓮子桂圓粥

材料

  • 紫黑糯米:1 杯,洗淨用水泡 30 分鐘
  • 紅棗:1/2 杯,泡軟
  • 蓮子:1/2 杯,泡軟
  • 桂圓肉:1/4 杯
  • 冰糖:少許,或紅糖
  • 水:4-6 杯

做 法

Step 1
用很深的湯鍋,加水,紫糯米,蓮子用大火煮沸後再多煮 10 分鐘後,轉成中小火加上蓋子去熬
Step 2
再煮三十分鐘後,加入紅棗,冰糖煮至糥米熟軟濃稠後才加入桂圓肉關火燜一下即可食用。
Step 3
中間如果水不夠,可多加些水至糯米粥完全熟軟為止。如不放糖,食用時在紫米紅棗粥上澆一些蜂蜜也另有風味。
