345 Mapo Tofu (Braised Tofu in Chili Sauce)
INGREDIENTS (4 servings)
- 1-2 packages of soft tofu, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup of vegetarian ground meat
- 1 Tbsp of chili bean sauce/hot bean sauce
- A dash of chili oil or chili paste (optional)
- Cilantro, for garnish
- A dash of cooking oil
- A dash of low sodium soy sauce
- A dash of water
- A pinch of ground Sichuan pepper
- A bit of cornstarch or corn flour mixed with a 1/2 cup of water
DIRECTIONS
Step 1 |
Heat oil in a pan and stir fry the vegetarian ground meat with the hot bean sauce. Then add the soy sauce, water, and tofu. Mix until everything is evenly distributed. |
Step 2 |
Finally stir in the cornstarch mixture and chili oil. Garnish with the cilantro and Sichuan pepper before serving. |
